college football

I just realized that it's the third week of NCAA football and I haven't even posted anything on the topic. After viewing the trailer for the upcoming movie, "Two for the money" (A movie about a football bookie) I realized that I should share my wealth of knowledge regarding college football. Here are my picks for the big games this weekend:
1. UT at UF- Ok, this is going to be tops on everyone's list. No one will be watching FSU-BC because it's on as the same time as this game. Personally, I think that the Gators have more talent than UT, but I'm not sure if they've got the mental advantage. UT has drained the swamp the past two times they visited. I guess my deciding factor is special teams, and I am going to go out on a limb and say that the Gators seal the win with a field goal in the closing minutes of the game.
UT at UF : UF by 3, 21-18.
2. FSU vs. BC. I love the Seminoles, but I'm not sure if they're ready for this big test. New quarterback Drew Weathford is still learning a complex passing game and BC will be rocking on saturday night. I hate to say it, but I think BC will pull this one out.
FSU vs. BC.- B.C. by 11, 17-6

3. Clemson vs. Miami
Coker can't afford to go 0-2 on top of losing to Clemson a second year. Look for Miami to pull this one out in a nail-biter.
Clemson vs. Miami: Miami by 1, 21-20

it's been a while

It's been a while since my last post, and I can't say that I really have a good excuse. There hasn't been much to comment on in the political world lately, and the NCAAF championship controversy died down when USC simply steamrolled Overated University, (a.k.a. : "Choke-la-homa") The Magic are playing like a team with a purpose for the first time in recent memory.Duke isn't as powerful as it was last year, but it's still a top 10-15 team and they have looked like one of the best backcourts in the nation so-far. With Tampa Bay's absence, the only part of the NFL playoffs I enjoyed so far was watching Peyton Manning choke once again in the big game. This just in: The Manning family is a bunch of whining, choke artists! How sweet was it to see the Chargers excel this season while Eli was getting knocked into the last century and running from NFL defenses like a Miami recruit running from the police. Justice was served, and it was sweet. I guess San Diego doesn't look so bad anymore does it Eli? The Chargers make the playoffs without even starting their big investment, and the Giants CRASH and BURN with their choice. Can you say Karma? That's what you get for thinking you're above the NFL draft. And as much as I love Marino and despise Peyton, it looks like their careers are going to be eerily simular. I'm taking Atl over Philly and the Pats over Pitt, with the Pats winning thier second straight title and their third title in four seasons.

up in arms

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "What's the deal with these people?" What in the wide world of sports is going on? Ron Artest was succesful in completing his bid for more free time to spend on making rap albums, as he joined in part of the brawl that took place on friday and was suspended for the remainder of the season today. The next day, South Carolina and Clemson were at each other's throats, and today Bush's bodyguard got into it with somebody and Bush was caught on camera pulling him away! You know it must be serious when the President tells the secret service to lay off of someone. I mean, you're the most hated man in the world, and you tell a guy, "Geeze, lay off the man, he probably means no harm!" There must have been some serious ace kicking going on. Maybe everyone's upset about steve spurrier returning to coach....Clemson may knock him into netherland when they come into Columbia next fall. I don't say this often, being the republican that I am, but let's give peace a chance people! HAS THE WHOLE WORLD GONE CRRRRRRRRAZY?

short time home

Well, I made it to graduation....sort of...After slipping by math with the scholarly final grade of a D minus, I acted like Chris Farley in the begginning of Tommy Boy and felt that it was neccesary to brag about my accomplishments to every man, woman and child within a mile radius. Well, not really, but I did call most of my close friends and family. (If you're reading this and wondering why I didn't call you...get over it.) Commencement went well, except for the part where I got the case with no diploma inside!:) The weekend was great, except for when I found out that I had to change my living arrangments because of someone backing out of a contract. I won't name names, but his initials are Tim Taylor.. (No hard feelings Tim :))Only four more weeks of college, and then I'll become as close to democrat as possible so that I can freeload off of society and milk the government for all it's worth until I finally land a job. At this point, any chance of actually landing a journalism job seems about as realistic as bumping into Tom Hanks at Merritt Square Mall. (I'd say more like...one in a million.'- 'So you're telling me there's a chance!'- Dumb & Dumber)
Speaking of Merritt Square, the new theater there is amazing. As my good bud Stacey said, the theater's motto should be: Cobb 16- "Can you believe you're in Merritt Island?". We saw day after tommorow and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and they didn't really push an agenda like all the media was saying they would. That's truly a first! Well, I've already typed way more than anyone would want to read so I'll stop.
